Golden dragon of the Universe by Gewalgon Golden dragon of the Universe by Gewalgon

This is my request for :iconsailorsunphoenix:
She asked me to draw her a female golden dragon of suniverse with the moon and sun.
Please don't ask me how long it took me to draw this piece... I didn't look at the time :D
Hope you like it!

[Drawn with "GIMP" and a graphic tablet - about 13 hours]

The detail on this drawing is very well done. The space looks realistic, and I also really like the detail of the dragon: the folds in the wing, the scales, the detail in the face, and the hair/fur coming off of the dragon. The scales are perfect in their size and shade; they aren't overdone or underdone at all. The folds in the wings show a great understanding of their stretching and texture, and the way you drew the flowing hair/fur seems to match perfectly with the emptiness of space and the movement of the dragon.

In terms of vision, I think the idea of the entire universe (as opposed to just a small part) could have been presented more clearly, but at the same time, the way you've included just one mysterious part of it keeps it from being overdone or too filled with distractions.

Many people have drawn space dragons or rulers of the universe, but I haven't seen a golden one before, and not so close to home as dwelling around the moon and sun. It would be amazing to imagine encountering this dragon one day in space travel around Earth, and the way you've drawn it certainly makes it believable.
